Battered baby dead

Today doctors confirmed that the battered baby girl after battling for her life for nearly two months, who was undergoing treatment at the IIMS Trauma Centre died of cardiac arreston Thursday.
Trauma Centre Associate Professor Dr. Deepak Agarwal saiad that she was declared dead following a cardiac arrest at 9:40 p.m. The reasons that triggered cardiac arrest are still unknown. He added that a post mortem shall be conducted on Friday.
Dr. Aggarwal said that the baby had shown rapid signs of recovery and had begun responding to the signs of treatment early this month. She was hailed as the miracle baby by the doctors after she managed to stay off the ventilator support for several days.
Dr. Aggarwal added that on Thursday, she developed some complications. She was doing all right, but there was some variation in her heart rate on Thursday. The hospital authority started monitoring her health condition since then.
The doctors again added that since the baby had already undergone two cardiac arrests, the child's heart must have become weak. She succumbed to the cardiac arrest on Thursday.
The baby girl was brought to AIIMS by a teenage girl on January 18th.  The baby was admitted to the Trauma Centre with severe head injuries, fractured arms and bite marks all over her body. She underwent five life-saving surgeries and doctors were uncertain about the quality of life she would have been able to lead after being discharged.
